Healing Pranayama

[Please contact me if you would like clarification of this Healing Technique.]

With practice, you can become such a powerful conduit of Divine Energy that you can channel a great healing force - you can heal others, or even flood the world with a great healing energy. Note that you are acting not as a source, but as an intermediary - the energy is merely flowing through you.

Sit upright, in a chair, or cross-legged on the floor. (This technique is not designed to be practiced while lying down - you are creating a conduit for energy to flow from the center of the earth up through the base of your spine.)

Begin with a Cleansing Breath. Facing forward, Inhale slowly, deeply, through the nose. At the end of the inhalation, turn your head to the left, exhale quickly twice through the open mouth with explosive breaths, one short and one long - "Huh huuuh". When the breath is fully exhaled, close the mouth. Turn your head forward and relax. By expelling the air in this direction, you are casting off the Ego Self. (In Samadhi, you may actually see the dark cloud of your Ego float off to the left of you as you directly access the True Nature of Reality without the Ego Filter).

Repeat 3 times.

Visualize the object of your healing session. Picture the person, people, planet, even the entire Universe. In the following example, we are focusing on a person.

Inhale very slowly and deeply. Visualize a great healing force entering at the base of your spine, slowly rising up the spine.

At the end of the inhalation, a great ball of brilliantly white healing force will be resting at the mind's eye (a spot at the center of the forehead).

Hold you palms at chest level, facing outward. They can be at any distance, ranging from touching the chest to arms outstretched - wherever you are comfortable.

Tighten your mouth so that the upper lip is sealed over your lower lip (biting your lower lip, but without using your teeth).

Begin slowly and deeply exhaling. Forcing the air to escape slowly past your lower lip. The back pressure should be expanding your cheeks as you exhale.

During exhalation:

Visualize energy entering at the crown of the head, bathing the mind's eye with great healing force.

Visualize the healing force traveling from the third eye, down to your arms, and out of your palms.

Visualize the subject of your healing being bathed in a luminous ball of light, grower more and more brilliant until it is a blinding bluish white.

The subject of your healing will begin to melt into a white hot plasma.

Pockets of illness in the subject's body will be clearly visible as gray spots (you might be able to see the subject's aura as well). These spots will begin to explode and disintegrate, with a loud pop, under the intense energy.

Sometimes, a gravely ill subject will appear to be encased in a thick gray snot, which will explode with a tremendous force after repeated inhalation/exhalation cycles.

Practice as many repetitions as is comfortable for you.

Q: How do I heal myself with this technique?.
A: Keep in mind that, in the selfless healing of others, you are purifying your own spirit and body.

Q: My arms get very tired. Do I have to keep them perfectly still?
A: In time, you will become accustomed to keeping your arms in one position. Keep them still during exhalation. You can vary the position of your arms prior to exhalation, and of course, you can completely rest them during inhalation if you choose.

Q: I can feel the energy rising up my spine, but it feels like it gets stuck at my back or neck. It never reaches my mind's eye.
A: That is a good sign - at least the energy is flowing! But it does need to be addressed. This can be caused by an energy blockage in your spine. Practice the suggested Hatha Yoga Postures to help remove the block, or consult a chiropractor, massage therapist, or other healing practitioner.

Q: I have been practicing this technique for some time, and now, during the day, I feel energy flowing out my arms and through my fingertips. It's like getting the chills.
A: Your Nadis (psychic nerve centers) are not yet used to channeling so much energy. Touch your thumb to your index finger on each hand - (this completes the circuit within your body, so the energy doesn't "leak" out your fingers) and the sensation will subside.

This discussion of Healing Pranayama is concluded with the poem "A Simple Game" by Justin Hayward.

A Simple Game

As time goes by you will see
That we're going to be free
You and me, we'll touch the sky
Can you see in your Mind's Eye

That we are one
We're all the same
And life is just a simple game

There, by your side, I will be
When this crazy world is free
Free from doubt
When it finds out
Exactly what we're meant to be

That we are one
We're all the same
And life is just a simple game

Thoughts of another day
Flashing through my head

Thinking how life could be
All of the things that our great men have said

Be what we want to be
What we deserve to be
What we are meant to be

As time goes by, you will see
That we're going to be free
You and me, we'll touch the sky
Can you see in your Mind's Eye

That we are one
We're all the same
And life is just a simple game
